We are excited to be recruiting for the next important piece of our history and new talent, an Audio-Visual Help Desk Technician! This position is responsible for resolving AV-related trouble tickets submitted by users of a dynamic Government program and follows up to ensure issues no longer persist.

The responsibilities of this role may include:

  • Analyzes issues and provides technical assistance, support, and advice to end users for AV hardware, software, and systems 
  • Researches, studies and resolves AV software and hardware issues of users, using all available resources 
  • Determines whether the issue is caused by hardware, software, or system 
  • Answers questions by applying AV knowledge of computer software, hardware, systems, and procedures 
  • Logs trouble tickets and maintains relevant records documenting all symptoms, troubleshooting and resolution 
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of technological assets 
  • Creates and maintains user-training manuals and procedures and provides training when necessary 
  • Makes recommendations to Executive Management on what types of devices and technologies are needed for efficiency and success 
  • Conducts periodic diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal AV function and minimal downtime 
  • Confers with Programmers to explain software errors or to recommend changes to programs 
  • Communicates with software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products Tests software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and whether product will aid user in performing work
  • Interface with warehouse personnel to ship and receive new or repaired devices 
  • Load software and code onto new or repaired audio-visual (AV) devices. Conduct testing and troubleshooting to ensure devices are configured correctly and ready for use 
  • Performs administrative duties including but not limited to completion and submission of purchase orders, travel requests, expense authorizations, expense reports, and return materials authorizations as needed
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the United States 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

To qualify for this position, you must possess an associate’s degree or experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Accounting, or other related discipline as well as 4+ years of equivalent experience. An AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification is required.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Crestron and BiAmp configuration experience
  • NVX experience is beneficial, but not required
  • CTS-D is beneficial, but not required
  • Sec+ is beneficial but not required
